In the Studio

Hmmm…what to do what to do…

I just got home from a very long early morning and have gone into the sewing room and can’t think about where in the world should I go next with my projects.

The wake up alarm was 4:00am but my sub-conscious mind couldn’t sleep past 3:00am so I tossed and turned for a good 40 minutes before I finally got up and went downstairs to see if the coffee was ready.

Auto set ON for 4:00am.  Darn, need to wait 15 more minutes.

Puppers can’t figure out why I’m up.  He shares some little boogie wags and a few yawns and accompanies me outside into the dark to look for Chloe.  She is nowhere to be found, probably found a new skunk boyfriend.  I give the command “hurry” and miraculously little Einstein runs into the grass, squats, looks over his shoulder to see if I’m watching and I praise him quietly as not to disturb our neighbor (Mrs. Kravitz as we like to nickname her, remind me sometime to tell you the story of the ‘barking dog letter’).  This little dog amazes me every day!  Pee on command.  Who would have thought about teaching a dog to do that…just leave it to the service dog world is all I can say.

So the reason why I was up so early was my nephew was flying home from his family’s vacation on his 16th birthday and I needed to pick him up at the airport.

I couldn’t believe that there is actually NOBODY up at 4:00am!  Wow.  If you need to go somewhere fast, do it at 4:00am.  Seriously!

Well, I picked him up, bright eyed and starving, shoving a McD’s sausage biscuit into his mouth and after his bag came off the carousel we were off to get him ready to get his drivers license.  I was ready to spend 2 hours in line but amazingly enough the cattle lines only took us about an hour.  This kid passed and a life’s milestone was reached with the help of my signature on the witness and testament form.

Mrs. Steiner,

Aunt.

Wow.  Who knew you need a witness?

So here I am again in the sewing room.  I have 5 hours to play and I need to think about what I want to work on.  I’m off to stir up the dust!
